What is the WebP format?
WebP is a modern image format developed by Google for efficient image compression which results in smaller file sizes than jpeg and pngs. Using the WebP image file format can improve your website loading times, cut bandwidth and maintain image quality.
Which files can I convert?
We’ve tested the following file types which work no problem:
- png
- jpg
- webp
- gif (animation is not supported)
- svg (not sure why you’d do this 🤷♀️)
What happens to my images once I’ve converted them?
Nothing. Because the conversion is all done in your browser. Unlike other image converters, we don’t upload anything and the image never leaves your computer. We’re kinda big on privacy.
